Dear Forum Readers:

I originally tried to use the link for what I thought would get me to the
Go free version and the instructions seemed to say I had to DL the Pro Client and Player first which is what I downloaded at 963 MB...Then a Wizard would get me a bunch of prompts to follow.

Upon registering and whatnot I was sent the actual link for the Go version and a registration number for a years' use. It was another big DL at like 921 MB.
I assumed that DL would overlay the previous Pro version in some way but it has failed to install correctly saying something about I need a valid Software Upgrade Plan and had a browse field for a valid license location. (I only have a email with the code numbers...)

Is that the way it was supposed to happen?

If the two versions should not be mixed like that what should I do now? I had to cancel the GO install process.

Should I contact the parent company?

Any ideas please pass them on this has become very confusing.

Thanks,
Bill

Hi,

May I ask you the link you got to dowload the Go version?

The email I was sent has no download link and evey link on the website give me a Professional edition installer, not a Go one. My NVR has been down for over a week.

Thank you.
Alex.

The installer is the same for Go, Essential, Express, Professional, and Enterprise. And since all these versions belong to the "Professional" family, the installer is called "Professional".

It is the SLC that turns the installed SW into the correct version. It has the nice side-effect that up- or downgrading only requires you to import a new license, no reinstall. Smart, eh?

So, you can safely go ahead with the "Professional" Installer :-)
