Earlier this month I noticed I had to renew my license, no big deal. I did all of the necessary steps to get my .lic file but, when I tried to import it I got an error that it was not valid. I tried again, same thing. I re-registered got a new .lic file and got the same error message. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software, same error. I called today and was told to re-register again so I did and I receive the same error. I have version 2.1a

I too am experiencing this issue. And this was posted 3 months ago?! looks like id rather pay for software and use it from another company. This company doesn't seem to know how to take care of their own business or software.

In have a new install of Xprotect go on a win 7 32bit. I am getting the same error when I try to import a new licence file "Licence is not Valid" I would like to know how to fix this issue Milestone... Any Ideas?

the issue seems to be if you register for a license, they send you a 2.0 license when they have version 2.1 being installed. License files are not being uploaded in their system.

I registered and waited for an email to get the license and never got one also. I received the primary email from support@milestonesys.com asking to active but it didn't do anything except make me re-register my account information. This company doesn't take care of their website or their customers. You can't even get support when demoing their products. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

INVALID LICENSE

I'm not sure if I like the Milestone web site it's hard to navigate and I couldn't find any email support.

When I first installed the software and register it I installed the wrong XprotectGO because there wasn't the manage offline license to import my new SLC. Once I reinstalled the software up up and away I went.

License was going to expire 10/12/2012 I re-register and went to import the SLC "INVALID LICENSE".... OMFG
Had to install the latest version of XprotectGO to resolve this. It was painful trying to figure this out with no support. It would have been nice if the message said "License Invalid update XprotectGO to the latest version" I guess you get what you pay for!!!!

I hope this helps someone else

I'm having the same problem when trying to renewing the XProtect Go 2.0a license, too!

"The license has expired...You have 30 days of trial...", I did all steps to get the renewed license file (even more than once) and none of these license files I got by e-mail were accepted ("License is not valid") when tried to import them from the XProtect Go Management Application, as we should.

Two extra details:
1) Each time I try to ReRegister the license ("Due to ReRegister", from my account license list), the Milestone webpage says "An error has occurred...500 - Application Error", albeit I receive the license files (through e-mail)

2)The license code to be renewed starts with 1D1-2XXX-XXXX, whereas all that I got started with 1D2-3XXX-XXXX

Do we really have to re-install all the SW again in order to overcome this issue, as the previous post suggests?

Looking forward getting an answer from Milestone support within the remaining 8 days until the trial expires!

The renewal license is for the latest release only. As such upgrading is the only path to continue usage of the free software.

I installed the software yesterday, registered online and have not received a .lic file. I have no idea what to do from here! Webcam pro shop where I bought it is no help and milestone is extremely difficult to navigate (on purpose?) .

Those lic files usually come through almost instantly. At least they always have for me.

You paid for Milestone GO?? It is free software. You need to go get your money back!


And to the rest of you, thanks. I now know that the issue with invalid licensing is due to a version miss-match.

If you use the Online registration you will not receive a new .lic file - your license will automatic get your license on the server updated.
It is only when you use the Offline activation you will receive a new .lic file

Just downloaded xprotect go 2.1a, registered, got my licence. Tried installing it via the manage licences offline. INVALID LICENCE

tried again, same again

Instructions say type in your licence code, there's no box in help>about to type in.

So I'm now stuck...

Licence code I have maybe for the older 2.0 version???? That's a guess.

I'm on windows 7 32bit.

I have checked - you cannot download v2.1 any more. You can only download v2.5.

This makes me think that you might have v2.5, and this will of course not accept a license intended for 2.1

Pls. double-check

P.S. All XProtect versions nowadays require a 64-bit Windows. The only component available in a 32-bit edition is the SmartClient.

Same here. Just upgraded from 2013 go to 2014 go. Got the lic file email. No Manage License Offline as per the email says. Went straight to Import License. License wont work tried back on 2013 works fine but not 2014 version
