We have provided our customer with XProtect Expert as a part of their surveillance system.
They want to have “Smart Client” view displayed on the big multi-screen display which will be built in the conference room.
Usually, they are looking at the Smart Client view with 21-inch monitor.
They like the view consisting of 9 cameras (3x3).
Since each camera is equipped with a sensor of D1 resolution (720x480), 9-camera view in the Smart Client software can hold 2160(3*720) x 1440(3*480) pixels at least.
Am I right in thinking in this way ?

Suppose there is the big multi-screen handling 4K resolution (3840x2160).
If we prepare the view with 24 cameras or more cameras, Smart Client can hold and send pixel data enough to satisfy 4K resolution of the multi-screen. (Here we are assuming that the graphics adapter can handle 4K resolution.)
One camera view will naturally show the blurred image on the 4K multi-screen, if we have the Smart Client handle only one camera view.
Is it correct?

In short, the more cameras the view in the Smart Client would retain, you can get more pixels enough to make the image unblur on the big multi-screen.
Will you please make any suggestion on how to use properly the Smart Client on the multi-screen display?

In general the Smart Client always scales the image (with or without maintaining image aspect ratio).
Perhaps because of this Milestone does not have a knowledge base or other documentation on making the cameras fit the screen resolution.
I suppose the multi-screen solution you are thinking about the Smart Client will still see it a one screen.

I hope that there will be other answers to this topic, perhaps by partners with real life experience with multi-screen displays..
Yours Sincerely, Bo Andersen

Thanks, Bo.

When you say "the Smart Client always scales the image", will the resolution of the image be changed according to the number of cameras that will be arranged in Smart Client's view?

Or does the view always maintain the same resolution whatever number of cameras are used?

Regards,
Yosuke

Same no matter the number of cameras.
Kind regards
