Hey all,

I can't for the life of me get the Mobile App to display live/recorded stuff at a framerate higher than about 5FPS. I'm using XProtect 2014 GO, with the latest IOS app.

I've just literally found the settings option for Milestone, under Settings... I saw that there was a 10FPS limit, so naturally, I thought by upping that to 30FPS, I'd solve my own issue. But it hasn't helped.

My setup consits of Hikvision DS-2CD2332-I cameras, running at 1920x1080, in H.264. They're using the HikVision 8x3 device driver in XProtect. I am recording to an i7 CPU with 16GB RAM and SSD. CPU usage is negligible when recording/watching.

Live/Recorded Playback via the Smart Client on the host machine is fluid, and fine.

In an attempt to resolve the issue I have also disabled QoS in the VideoOS.MobileServer.Service.exe.config file, rebooted and no joy.

I am recording only motion.

Any ideas? I've probably missed a setting...

James,

how do things look if you use a web browser instead of the mobile app?

Meanwhile, I will try to dig something up.

Thanks Torsten.

I've played around with the settings under the Performance tab of the Mobile Server, and got it working to an acceptable degree.

I don't understand why I'm having to transcode/cripple the performance/quality to get it to play back without a stutter though.

There's a single viewer, me. CPU Usage, is < 20%, and I've got a 20Mb upload.

Playback using my previous Synology device was flawless at 1920x1080/25fps - that had less RAM and less CPU power. So I'm guessing I'm just missing a setting somewhere?

Under Mobile Server, my settings are; (if it's not mentioned, it's not enabled)

General
HTTPS only
Enable XProtect Web Client
Enable all cameras view
Enable direct streaming
- Do not enforce

Performance

Level 1
- Max FPS: 25
- Max Image Resolution: 1080p

Level 2
- CPU Threshold: 50%
- Bandwidth: empty
- Max FPS: 20
- Max Image Resolution: 600p

Level 3
- CPU Threshold: 80%
- Bandwidth: empty
- Max FPS: 12
- Max Image Resolution: 480p

Does the CPU% in Performance mean, overall system CPU%, as identified in Task Manager or CPU% as identified in Mobile Server Status?
