Hello,

I have been trying to browse a site in one window of Smart Client.

https://xively.com/login

When I browse the site above by my IE 11 it goes no problem.

But I try to browse it in my Smart Client it says;
"Script error" and I have to select "Yes" button for script.
*I already tried to Enable the HTML script.

Could you let me know the cause?
Your help would be highly appreciated.

Best Regards,
Shunji

KB 1167 : Web pages fail to load in the XProtect Smart Client
KB Area: Usage

Description:

When you decide to display an HTML page in the XProtect® Smart Client, the HTML page uses the engine of the version of Internet Explorer that is installed on the system. However, by default it runs in compatibility mode which means that it runs as Internet Explorer 7 (if version 9 is installed) or Internet Explorer 8 (if version 10 is installed).

In this mode, older web pages are supported but some newer web pages - especially ones that use HTML5 - do not work. You can change the way this setup runs by editing or adding a registry key.

Solution:

Close the XProtect® Smart Client, and then:

1) Open the Windows Registry (regedit) and navigate to HKeyLocalMachine\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MAIN\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION

2) If there is an existing Client.exe key:
  • Double-click the Client.exe key
  • Select the Decimal radio button
  • Change the Value data to 10000 (it is likely set to 8000)
  • Click OK and make sure the data looks like this: Client.exe REG_DWORD 0x00002710 (100000))

3) If there is no existing Client.exe key:
  • Right-click a blank space and select New -> DWORD (32-bit value)
  • Name it “Client.exe” (without the quotes)
  • Double-click the Client.exe key
  • Select the Decimal radio button
  • Change the Value data to 10000
  • Click OK and make sure the data looks like this: Client.exe REG_DWORD x00002710 (100000))

You can set the key to a variety of values to make the browser emulate different things. If you want to read more, look here: http://msdn.microsoft.co....aspx#browser_emulation.

Note: As always, when you make changes to the registry, be sure to make a backup, or take the appropriate steps to be able to revert to a state before the changes where made. By proceeding to use this solution, you absolve Milestone Systems and its representatives from liability due to damages caused, directly or indirectly, as a result.

This link might hold never values - http://msdn.microsoft.co...n-us/library/ie/ee330730(v=vs.85).aspx
Yours Sincerely, Bo Andersen

Did any of you find a way past this issue? The KB work arounds didn't work for me either.
