Hello,

I have a new Hikvision DS-2CD2232-I5.
Xprotect Professional 2013 version: 8.5e build: 215366
and Device Pack 7.9.

I tried to add the camera with Hikvision8x3 and Onvif both device drivers.
I'm able to see the video stream in the device configuration!
BUT it's impossibile to see that video stream using the Smart Client or the web application.

I see only: "Camera connection has been lost".

I don't know how to do...

Any suggestions?

thanks
Bo

thx Andersen,

I'm going to check the following points:
(PS: I have 48 cameras connected to the server, all Axis, from different subnets)

1. Packet loss or insufficient network bandwidth
NO, I can't believe, because I'm supported by a fiber network and cameras are set to work with 2mbit/s CBR max.

2. Firewall or security software hindering or blocking video traffic
NO, because all the others cameras are working right. And the firewall is switched off.

3. Inefficient streaming mode/protocol set on the camera
Well... I don't know, I hope to set it up correctly, take a look at this screenshot: (sorry the management is in ITA lang)

4. The Milestone Recording Server service is not running
NO, because all the others cameras are working right. The same as the point 2.

An idea; sometimes a camera is hard pressed to deliver two streams, if you shut down the Management Application does it improve the streaming to the Recording Server and thus to the Smart Client?
On the same note; if you do a low resolution stream does that work better?

PS. When a camera acts up it is my experience a good idea to start with power cycling the camera, turn it off and turn it back on.

Yours Sincerely, Bo Andersen

@Bo,
It was my idea too... I was worried about the same time Management and Smartclient opened together. But not even so....

I also decrease the resolution video stream, without success..

Only Management seems handle the video stream.

I'm going to reboot the camera.

Never seen this with HikVision cameras. I wonder if HikVision have changed something in the cameras. The Milestone device driver is tested with the HikVision camera at firmware version 5.0.0 build 130412.
If this is not what you are using, try to change the firmware.
Yours Sincerely, Bo Andersen

I had had the newest firmware 5.2.xxxx before yesterday so I downgraded to official supported: 5.0.0 build 130412

But the problem remain the same... Camera connection has been lost.

I don't know what to do...

You need to file a support case. This will require deep investigation and involving a developer.
