You might have some corruption in the offline configuration cached by the Recording Server. You might try deleting the cached configuration and force the Recording Server to get a fresh configuration from the Management Server:

- Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Milestone\XProtect Corporate Recording Server\offline or C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Milestone\..\..

- Find and delete the files 'configurationdataset.xml' and 'securitydataset.xml'

Does that do the trick?

It looks like maybe the Recording Server is having problems writing to the drive/files. Do you have antivirus installed? If so, make sure there are exceptions configured so that database files are not scanned. While you're at it, add c:\programdata\milestone\*

It might also be a problem with the drive - try running chkdsk E: /F to see if there are any filesystem errors and hopefully fix them. If it's none of the above, I would definitely give our support team a call. Obviously a down RS is a critical issue!

It could be that your Recording Server is rebuilding the database cache file, this can take hours and during the rebuild, you do not get any feedback. Do not restart the RS while it is rebuilding, or it will start over again. To see if the RS is rebuilding or stuck, pls consult the Milestone Knowledge Base, (new) article #1575.

Beginning with XPCO 7.0d, the rebuild will take place in the background, and the RS will be available despite the rebuild.

Hope this helps.
