Is it possible to monitor an input via the Access Control Module that is not associated with a door?

A hypothetical example is an input on the hardware is tied into a fire alarm. If the alarm is tripped the access control software sees that and generates an event that the input point is active. Is it possible to add an access point in the Access Control Module to generate that event in Milestone without associating it to a door?

Yes, this should be possible for any Event enabled/supported in the Access Control Module. I just did a small test with a Rule (Corporate/Expert) like this:

Perform an action on Digital Input Port 0: Active (Access Control Events)

Unlock Axis 195 -Door 1, Axis 195 -Door 2
