I have an AXIS M3027 that typically once or twice a day goes down, and I get an email alert that “The system is not receiving video from the camera”, but typically the camera comes right back up within about 2-5 seconds (but once as long as 4 hours). Essentially the system typically detects that it isn’t receiving video for just long enough to generate an email. Our IT department is monitoring the network and has determined that the device isn’t going offline, and responds to pings throughout. Any thoughts on what would cause this? We would like to be able to use the “Camera Failure” notification, but as often as this pops up it has become a major nuisance. Thank you.
Do you have more cameras of this type? If yes, are they all interrupted at the same time? This would indicate a Milestone camera driver crash.
At any rate, you should contact Milestone Tech Support and have a support case created
We only have 1 of the AXIS M3027 cameras, but we have 9 other AXIS devices (5 P3215-VE, 1 M7001 Encoder, 2 P3367, and 1 P1427-LE), and these appear to have no problem. I’m not sure if they would be using the same driver, but they have been flawless.
Hello! I have problem connect the camera Axis M3027-to-Milestone. Tell me what firmware version should be? Or how can there be another problem?
Danny, I was a bit imprecise in my advice. It is actually not the camera or encoder type, it is the driver (e.g. “Axis 1 ch PTZ” or “Axis 4 ch”).
I would guess that the M3027 is a “Axis 1 ch” device, so if all cameras using the “Axis 1 ch” driver get disconnected at the same time, this would indicate a driver crash. If only one of the cameras using the same driver get disconnected at a time, it is not a driver crash and the reason must be different. If this gets too difficult, I would like you to create a support case.
Ivan, you kind of hijacked this thread with a different issue, but noproblem. The answer is simple: Check out the Supported Hardware page (https://www.milestonesys.com/solution-partners/supported-hardware/) , drill down to the camera and you will see which camera firmware is the officially supported (=Milestone has tested with).
Hello! I have a problem with the camera Axis M3027. After installing Milestone in camera says “Communication interrupted”. After rebooting the camera connection is restored, but after a few hours again lost and again need to restart it. The camera can be pinged. The firmware is set to the recommended Milestone 5.55.1.1 what could be the reason? Device driver Axis 8 channel device
If it takes a camera reboot to bring it back, this smells like a camera issue. Pls try to get the camera log and the camera’s server report and contact Axis.
You could also try this: While the camera appears disconnected, restart the Milestone Recording Server service. If that does not bring back the camera, then it is definitely a camera issue.
