Camera video slow to appear when logging in to Smart Client

I just setup a new HikVision camera on my system and it appears to be mostly working just fine; however, when I login to Smart Client all of my other cameras (ACTi and Axis) load within 1-2 seconds, this camera takes about 30 seconds for the video to load. During this time, the window says “Connected to Server”. Once the video shows up, there are no other problems. It does not flicker in and out, or give any other indication that there is a bad connection.

The way you describe it I wonder if you do not have the camera scheduled to be online always, but instead rely on the “start cameras on client request”. This is configured in the Scheduling and Archiving Properties window.
