Can exported recordings be played back in a stand-alone dvd player

I’ve exported recordings using a variety of settings and none of them play in dvd players that I’ve tried.

Do you recommend particular export settings and make/model of dvd player?

The export is data which can be stored in a DVD. It is not creating a movie which will play in a regular DVD player. Even with MKV export which would probably be the same format it does not simply playback in a DVD player.
