Or maybe with protocol integration? I need to retrieve the video push location info real-time and save it into my own database. The metadata samples that I see don’t appear to work with video push (I compiled the live metadata sample and it doesn’t show my video push camera as a metadata source). Maybe I have to do something else in the server to create a metadata device from the video push channel?

If you have setup a video push and do video push with the Mobile clients you should be able to see the metadata using the MetadataLiveViewer sample.
Well, I’m pushing video from my mobile application and i can see the video in the management application in the server, but in the MetadataLiveViewer sample, it doesn’t show any metadata device.
I’m using a user with full access permissions, both the default Windows account administrator and a custom basic user with full permissions.

I think I misunderstood and assumed you were only developing the metadata reader not also the client pushing the GPS metadata.

Sorry, when I said “my mobile application” I meant the Milestone Mobile application. So I am not develping my own client pushing metadata. I just want to access the metadata pushed by Milestone mobile app from a .Net environment.
When you see your Video Push device in the Management Client it has both a camera and a metadata part, is the metadata device enabled? (Per default it will not be.)

I am using XProtect Essential license for the testing, maybe that’s not possible with this license?

No, it is not possible with the version you have. Metadata support is in XProtect Corporate, Expert, Professional+, Express+ and Essential+

Oh, but I thought I was using Essential+, since there isn’t any Essential without + . How can I update the license to Essential+ ?
