After several inquiries with Milestone Support and our reseller we have no other option left to use the MIB SDK to achieve our goals (if we want our customer to use Milestone).
We have an Expert Deployment in scope with about a 100 cameras. And various integrations with Firesystems (200 sensors max, IO or XML based) and an art protection solution (XML or IO based).
Want we want to do is customize our icons in the SmartClient, we have a black background in the map so the icons of the camera’s are not visible at all, working with a white square behind it and those ‘half’ solutions does not work. Also the default ‘lightbulb’ for an IO and the “switch” for a trigged don’t really look appealing. Personally i cannot understand that in such an sophisticated CCTV software package such basic features as (at least) changing the icon color, or trigger effect is not possible. In all our client wants to be able to import his custom icons into the system.
Just installed the SDK on a client with SmartClient installed but don’t know where to start. I have programmers at my disposal if required, however i need to check where to start. I’ve read the documentation and i believe i have to install the SDK also on my server, is that correct?
And if someone has already done this trick (importing custom icons) can this be shared with us?
