Hello Development team,
I came here from MyCases and first time to ask you.
(I don’t know well about this page, if you need more information or something please tell me.)
I’d like to know about that thing.
Our client uses XProtect Enterprise 2016 R2 version. (in April they upgraded) And they use also MIP SDK. The developer has used version 4.1 but not sure.
Then what I’d like to know is the following.
・How to know their MIP SDK version in easiest way?
・If MIP SDK’s version updates, does it anymore development? (4.1→2016 R2)
I think the developer doesn’t want to update MIP SDK version because developer is worried it might need more development from the beginning.
If you think it doesn’t, please show me the way how to update the version.
Sorry, the customer and I don’t know well about MIP SDK.
Please help us.
Thank you!
Best regards,
Nozomi Yoshihara
It is a clear recommendation to use the newest MIP SDK when developing. However once you have a working integration it will generally work for future XProtect versions. See this knowledge base article - https://force.milestonesys.com/support/articles/en_US/FAQ/About-MIP-SDK-compatibility-with-XProtect-product-versions
Thank you for giving me the information. I read that page, but I understood the following.
“old XProtect products with old MIP SDK (same version with XProtect) →newer XProducts with old MIP SDK” can go well.
But I meant if they install newer XProtect products, it may need to update also newer MIP SDK, in order to fit each other’s version.
That page seems not to find about my expected answer.
If my opinion is fault, please show me. And please indicate white paper or something URL.
Thank you!
Best regards,
Nozomi
You write: But I meant if they install newer XProtect products, it may need to update also newer MIP SDK, in order to fit each other’s version.
This is not correct.
Your integration made in the MIP SDK will also work when XProtect is upgraded.
The article say: Solutions developed with previous versions of the MIP SDK work in the same way with the new versions of (the MIP SDK and) XProtect products.
