The installer for the device driver that has been developed currently installs in the default Milestone folder locations and works with no issues. Our driver will be used for Milestone XProtect installations and an OEM “XProtect” installation that have different folder locations and names. Can you please provide information or documentation on changing the installation location and on if installation location can be changed during installation?
Checkout docs you can use the VideoOS folder.
Unfortunately, there is only one valid driver path.
If the Recording Server is installed in:
C:\Program Files\Milestone\XProtect Recording Server
then the driver must be installed in:
C:\Program Files\Milestone\MIPDrivers
For an OEM XProtect installation, the same rule applies. For example, if the Recording Server is installed in:
C:\Program Files\XoemX\X Recording Server
then the driver must be installed in:
C:\Program Files\XoemX\MIPDrivers
Milestone Systems does not publish a list of OEM products on the public website. Contractual agreements with OEM partners prevent us from making such a list publicly available.
I agree this is less practical than the plugin model, where placing plugins in:
C:\Program Files\VideoOS\MIPPlugins
is supported across both standard Milestone and OEM installations.
Oh sorry Forget that
Dear Todd,
