I would like to see a Smart Client sidebar, or top toolbar plug-in, or honestly any user-friendly implementation, which has output triggering as an action. Similar to the speaker implementation, where you have an active camera in a view, the sidebar allows you to send audio to its speaker (if one is configured). I’m specifically looking for a dynamically working system, since I have too many cameras to configure the exact same button action manually per camera. Also, the current sidebar implementation, where you can select an output manually and activate it, is too slow and user-unfriendly when there’s a great number of outputs in the system.
Minimum functionality
When selecting a camera in a view:
- Check if it has any enabled outputs. If so,
- Display the option of triggering the output easily in the Smart Client. If it has more than one enabled output, display a dropdown where the user can select the desired one.
Nice-to-haves:
- Ability to not only turn on and off, but also set a timer.
- Ability to find the closest 6 (user-defined) cameras by GPS coordinates, and turn those on/off as well.
