Exportation Problem

Hello ,

we have developed a software that automates our daily video export, using Milestone SDK.

Lately this software behaves strangely, creating us problems that are not indifferent. Basically the problem is this:

BackupSoftware start exporting a day , that backup is complete without problems, errors or warnings. The result of this exportation is an incomplete backup that contains, perhaps, 50% of our real video.

We also noticed that this problem occurs especially when, in a day recording, we got little “empty” parts. I try to explain in a better way;

Using the example above, starting from 20 nov 2019, 00.00, maybe my record stops at 12.10 and starts again in 12.39 to continue until 20 nov 2019 00.00. Well, my COMPLETED BACKUP will end 20 nov 2019 at 12.10, without showing any error or warning.

Can you help us solve this problem? Thanks

Please run the Export Sample unmodified; do you get the same issue?

Yes, I have seen the example shown, but this also presents a problem indicated … the export ends without errors but incomplete

If you export using the Smart Client do you see the same issue?

I would like to establish whether there is a general export issue, perhaps a recording server issue, or something specific to the use of the MIP SDK.

If effective for export with the Smart client, the problem does not occur ..

Yes, this explains the issue.

I will try to investigate why the MIP SDK based export is less robust than the Smart Client export.

Which product and version is the XProtect VMS? Which version is the Smart Client? Which version is the MIP SDK?

Is the export in Milestone format (= DBExporter in the code)?

We face the same problem.

We export an AVI file, using the SDK version 2017 R3, corporate , Smart Client 2017 R3.

Do you have a solution?

Not the same kind of export so it cannot be the same issue, please do a new question making sure to describe what you have developed, how it fails and what you have observed while troubleshooting.

I have asked for logs in the Support case, these kind of information is best exchanged in the support case. For now lets communicate on the Support case..
