I’m Michael, a Product Manager at CyberLink. We currently offer FaceMe Security as a seamless plug-in for Milestone XProtect, providing advanced facial recognition for surveillance and access control.
We are seeing a growing number of requests to support Arcules and are currently evaluating the integration feasibility, particularly for a “Camera to Cloud” deployment. Our proposed architecture involves deploying Facial Recognition as a Service (FRaaS) coupled with an ACAP app running on the edge via AXIS ARTPEC-9 cameras.
Could you let us know if Arcules exposes APIs or SDKs for the following workflows?
Arcules SaaS Integration:
User Authentication: End-user login and token generation.
Camera Metadata: Fetching camera list and associated metadata (e.g., camera name, location, and so on).
Permission Syncing (RBAC): Querying the specific camera access rights of a logged-in user so we can accurately filter FaceMe event results based on their Arcules permissions.
Arcules ACAP Integration:
Edge Identity: An API or method for the ACAP app to query the local camera’s ID and Name, allowing our SaaS to map edge events to the correct camera entity in the cloud.
Thank you for reaching out and for sharing the context around your integration plans. This is helpful, and it is great to see the interest in supporting Arcules.
For your questions on APIs and workflows, I recommend starting with our API documentation here: https://msapi.arcules.com/docs
This covers authentication, camera metadata, and other available endpoints that should help you evaluate the SaaS integration side. Please take a look and let us know if you have any specific questions as you go through it.
For RBAC and permission-based filtering, I would be interested to better understand your expected flow so we can confirm how it aligns with what is currently supported.
On the ACAP and edge side, I would like to clarify your approach further, especially how you are planning to map edge events to cloud entities. This will help us guide you more accurately on what is feasible today.
Looking forward to your thoughts and happy to continue working through this with you.
Thank you for your reply, I did made some architecture charts regarding the integration for both edge and SaaS. I think it would be much easier to discuss over email or a video call. Is that possible?
Thank you for sharing this. The architecture charts sound helpful.
I agree a call would be a good way to review the integration approach. You can reach me at gta@milestone.us. I’m also looping in Alex at ack@milestone.us, who can support on the business side as well.
Please feel free to share a few time options, and we can coordinate a session.
