High CPU on VideoOS.ServiceControlService.exe

2-4 times a week users (mobile & desktop) are not able to connect to the Milestone Server. The VideoOS.ServiceControlService.exe service will be utilizing over 90% CPU and a server reboot is needed to restore service. We are running xProtect Pro 2016. I saw the posting on the VideoOS.MobileServer.Service.exe high CPU usage and I have implemented the changes to dropping CPU usage max on the performance settings. This has not resolved the issue.

Hi Chris,

I would initially suggest you make sure that no antivirus or third party sofware is affecting/scanning the mentioned service.

Also see if there is a pattern of some sort when it happens (is it at peak system usage? any particular time?)

If this is not the case, I suggest you create a support ticket with our first line, and provide us with your system logs (we have a Log collector tool that will make life easy for you) so that we can better understand your environment.

Install is pretty clean with no AV currently running. The reseller we utilize had recommeded that the Mobile Server be installed on a seperate Server, however this doesn’t look like a transcoding issue. Where is the Log Collector so I can include them with my ticket?
