How do I activate the Central Protocol?

This is the first time I’m working with Milestone, so maybe I am missing something very obvious.

I would like my software to communicate with Milestone through the Central Protocol, described in the MIP SDK documentation under “Protocol Integration”.

The default port for this protocol should be 1237, but on the NVR no service is listening on this port.

The MIP SDK documentation states:

“Note that the Central Protocol / API can be enabled or disabled in the XProtect Enterprise and XProtect Professional product via the Management Applicationr”

but I am not able to find this option.

Could someone help me out with this?

The Central protocol only works for e-code products: XProtect Enterprise, Professional and Express (WITHOUT PLUS).

Guessing that this is not the product you have it is better if you explore the Status Soap Protocol (different protocol but the replacement for Central protocol).

I have XProtect Professional+ and I thought that it was the same as Professional, but clearly I was mistaken.

As you suggest I will be looking at the Status Soap Protocol, since I see port 7563 is indeed open.
