How do I enable the "draw box to zoom" PTZ-functionality at live streams?Changing the PTZ Click Mode option from “User Default” to “Click-to-center in Smart Client doesn't do the trick.

We are wondering if your device support PTZ area zoom. Can you please check it on Milestone web site?

Go to Milestone( https://www.milestonesys.com/) → Support ->Supported Devices. If it is not supported, then the functionality doesn’t work unfortunately.

Thanks. It’s a Dahua camera that is supported by Milestone. The area zoom of this camera is not supported. The camera is capable of doing it, using another application.

The Dahua camera uses the generic ONVIF driver in Milestone. The generic ONVIF driver doesn’t support area zoom.

Is there a way to write our own Dahua driver that can support area zoom?

It is possible for you to make your own driver with DriverFramwork for supporting the area zoom functionality.
