I’m using the XProtect Essential + 2019 R1 version and had used the Universal Driver to configure the recording server to receive RTSP stream. But the input video format would be in mpegts.
The following are the configuration for my Universal Driver:
Delivery mode: Multipart Stream
Keep Alive type: Default
Retrieval Mode:Streaming
Codec: ?
Connection URL : test
Frames per second : 30
RTSP Port : 8555
Streaming Mode: RTP(UDP)
Am I in the direction or are there other means of configuring the XProtect to receive a MPEGTS stream through RTSP?
Hi Jolene. Here you can see all the possible configuration means for the Universal driver

Fell free to ask if you have any question.
Hi Andriy, Thanks a lot for the guide. However it does not answer the question of the types of video format(i.e .ts,.mp4,.m2ts,etc) that Xprotect supports.
I would like Xprotect to receive a MPEG-TS(.ts) file with H264 codec through RTSP streaming protocol. I had tried using the following configurations with the Universal Driver:
Codec: H264
Connection URL : test
Frames per second : 30
RTSP Port : 8555
Streaming Mode: RTP(UDP)
But I’m not able to receive my stream.
However with the same configuration with the universal driver with a .mp4(H264 codec) though rtsp source I would be able to receive the stream on the XProtect side.
Besides the Universal Driver is there other way that I configure Xprotect to receive a .ts ( H264 codec) thiugh rtsp stream source?
Hi Jolene. The article said,
> Codec
> Select among three supported video formats: MJPEG, MPEG4, and H.264.
Unfortunately, it seems that MPEG-TS(.ts) is not supported by the Universal Driver.
