To create icons for :
In a list of more than 1.000 cameras, it would allow to select in a fast and easy way any PTZ camera.
This feature is standard in a lot of VMS software’s…
Unfortunately, there is no functionality for creating new icons for camera types in XProtect.

I can tell you it would be really an interesting feature : there are almost 9.000 cameras to manage !
You can imagine the disapointment of the operators…

Actually, I have discussed with my colleague but unfortunately, we don’t have any suitable workarounds. It can be possible to categorize cameras with Camera group but still icons are the same means this is not a perfect solution.
We now have this on the wish-list for future enhancement development work. A prioritization needs to be made by Milestone Product Management, so it is not possible to say when, or even if, this will be developed.
Please contact your sales representative if you have interesting business cases, sales might convince Milestone Product Management to prioritize based on business cases.

Don’t you think the management of 9.000 cameras with about 500 operators should be considered as a nice business case ?

Just wanted to tell you we’ve been discussing already for months without receiving any satisfying answer !
The VMS (Qognify) with which the operators are actually working has already these features (and also the Salvo’s mentioned in another post)
So it is not just a dream but the everyday reality in the control rooms…
Milestone is (supposed to be) an upgrade for a better world…

Milestone Technical Support does not have the power to do this prioritization of Milestone’s development resources, I will refrain from doing further comments, I hope you will respect that I cannot comment.
