How to get RTSP streams from cameras?

Hi

We are developing a cloud service, which needs to pull video from Milestone VMS. On cloud we are going to use some popular media server, i.e. Red5.

Red5 doesn’t have direct network access to cameras, but we can establish VPN connection to Milestone Recording server or other service running in local network where cameras are installed.

Red5 can pull video via RTSP protocol.

Could you please provide direct links how to

  • authorize with Milestone VMS API
  • list cameras connected to VMS
  • pull video via RTSP or probably some other standard protocol supported by Red5

The only way to get RTSP is by using the add-on product, called Milestone Open Network Bridge, please see this link –
