We work on developing MIP plugins, so we need a secured server to integrate and test plugins on the Smart client and Management client. We have teams across a few countries. Is there any secure and efficient way we can have our development environment set up? Any suggested solutions or documentation to refer to?

I think you are asking for something more advanced, I also think that what you need knowledge about is secure XProtect setup. On that note there is some really interesting recordings from webinars that I can recommend. The series “Cybersecurity: XProtect VMS System set-up” is that recommendation:
