I am using VideoFileImportDriver, which is a sample code provided in a forum post by Milestone Systems.

Thank you for your support regarding the following inquiry:

I would like to consult with you again regarding a new issue.

The video input via VideoFileImportDriver is treated as a separate camera, and therefore, the imported video files cannot be directly used in production.

Please let me know if you have any methods or ideas on how to treat the video input via VideoFileImportDriver as past footage of an actual camera.

What you ask is not possible.

The Milestone XProtect VMS has the principle that it can guarantee data integrity in this way: The video that is recorded in a camera is guaranteed to come from that camera. It is not allowed to record from elsewhere in to the video data that is from a camera, only the camera itself can do this and then it is the feature called Edge retrieval.

Thank you for your response. Understood. I appreciate your support.
