Insert metadata with GPSMetadataProvides sample problem

I’m using GpsMetadataProvider sample and trying to see what is inserted as metadata into database. So I followed instructions, created MIP driver, and clicked “Send Metadata”.

After this, I want to see this metadata by using MetadataPlaybackViewer sample, but I don’t have any metadata saved.

I’m using clean XProtect install, no cameras installed (only MIP driver).

There is a log from Management client, maybe this will help.

My first suspicion is that all is working fine except the metadata is not recorded. Using only default rules the metadata provider is recorded unless it is associated with a camera which is recorded. If my assumption is right you will get the metadata if you use the MetadataLiveViewer instead.

For your testing please create a ‘RecordAlways’ rule looking something like this.
