Hikvision introduced line traversal, face detection and intrusion (loiter) detection in 5.1.6 of their firmware. Is there a way to use those triggering events as detected, in camera, to send emails?
The device specific “Hardware events” are read from the device and can be used from the XProtect side, but it’s not possible to determine exactly without knowing the device model.
Please check the “Supported Hardware” at http://www.milestonesys.com/solution-partners/supported-hardware/xprotect-corporate-and-xprotect-expert/
Also, the next Device Pack (v. 8.0) will feature extended support for the Hikvision camera range.

So it is on the list. My advise is to always check the list if you have a new camera or plan to buy a new camera.
I have now configured hardware input events for Region Entrance (start recording event) and Region Exit and enabled notification for the Region Entrance. Now I see the motion detection log firing in the log file, then I see the Region Entrance log fire and I even see the Region Exit log firing, but the notification to email does not occur. The test email notification works just fine as do the notifications when cameras go online or offline.
I’m seeing these logs, but notifications via email are not working:
2015-07-21 20:52:51 MOTION Basement Motion detected
2015-07-21 20:53:09 ALERT Event “Region entrance on camera 1” triggered
2015-07-21 20:53:13 ALERT Event “Region exit on camera 1” triggered
THE ONLY THING THAT JUMPS OUT AT ME IS WHEN I TRY TO SET THE NOTIFICATION SCHEDULE TO ALWAYS ON IT IS STUCK AT ALWAYS OFF AND WHEN I CHANGE IT, THE CHANGE DOES NOT TAKE.
Is there a bug repot for notification schedules being stuck OFF?
