Is any reference available on licensing a component-type integration application?

We are familiar with plugin-type application licensing.

No, you need a plugin to load in the Management Client (MC).

It is possible to make a MC plugin to does not do any UI but just do a LicenseManager in a BackGroundPlugin instead. But this is a minimum.
