Live View refresh during fail-over/fail-back

We offer a multicast plugin for the Smart Client called SureStream. It streams multicast video directly from the camera to the client, so that when a recording server fails, there is no disruption of live video.

However, we see that if the set up has fail-over - all smart client views (including ours) gets automatically refreshed. The intent seems to be to connecting to the fail-over/fail-back server. While this makes a lot of sense for viewers that stream from a recording server, our plugin gets no video from the recording servers but it gets refreshed too. This causes a brief disruption of live video in our plugin.

At this time we are jointly bidding with Milestone APAC for a fairly large critical security project that needs 0 live video disruption even in the fail-over scenario. We must confirm that we can meet this requirement in the next couple of days if we are to stay in contention, else it will be a lost revenue opportunity for Milestone and us.

Is it possible to add support through a hot fix using which our viewer does not refresh even during a failover/failback? The hot fix is not needed right away - but a confirmation from Milestone is what is needed now.

It is part of the current design that the Smart Client does a refresh when a fail-over situation is discovered. This is not an ideal design, especially not in the scenario you have outlined.

I have on the basis of your question here communicated with Milestone Product Management and given them a request for enhancement report on this.

There is currently no plan for Milestone to do a design change to the Smart Client.

PS. I am sorry for the late reply.

Thank you for your response.
