MIP Driver not listed

I tried install a MIP Driver on a customers system. The driver is placed as usual in the MIP Drivers folder of the Milestone Directory. Restarting the Recording Server and Management Client did not solve the problem. The driver was orignally developed in V2024 R1 but works on my recently updated Dev System (V2025 R1). Everything has tried under Admin user. Any ideas?

Not listed means that when you do the “Add hardware” wizard, in the “Select which driver…” then you do not see the driver? Please confirm or elaborate.

The driver can be in the group “Other” or if you have more than one driver listed under the Vendor name.

As first step please see that the driver files (dll and def file) are not blocked (as downloaded/suspicious files). -(At “[C:\Program](file:C:/Program) Files\Milestone\MIPDrivers”)

In “[C:\ProgramData\Milestone\XProtect](file:C:/ProgramData/Milestone/XProtect) Recording Server\Logs\DriverScan.log” you should find something like this… (Replace DemoDriver with the your driver.)

Do you see this?

Do you have a “[C:\ProgramData\Milestone\XProtect](file:C:/ProgramData/Milestone/XProtect) Recording Server\Logs\DriverFrameworkProxy.log” ? Does it contain errors?

Do you have a “[C:\ProgramData\Milestone\XProtect](file:C:/ProgramData/Milestone/XProtect) Recording Server\Logs\DriverFrameworkProcess.log” ?

Do you have a “[C:\ProgramData\Milestone\XProtect](file:C:/ProgramData/Milestone/XProtect) Recording Server\Logs\DriverFramework_DemoDriver.log” (Replace DemoDriver with the your driver.) Does it contain errors?

There could be other errors or indications of what is wrong in other of the logs at [C:\ProgramData\Milestone\XProtect](file:C:/ProgramData/Milestone/XProtect) Recording Server\Logs

The driver is not listed under “Other” and it’s the only driver under this vendor name.

Neither the def file nor any dll file is blocked.

At the moment I have no access to the customers system. I’ll keep you updated regarding the log files.
