MIPS Error

We had an end-user running into an error when integrating the Milestone MIPS with our Access It! Software. When they add the RS2MIPSPlugin into the Milestone folder within Program Files, it causes the Event Server not to start up entirely, which I assume doesn’t allow it to detect our plug-in. Because when trying to add in the Access Control in MIPS Management Client, it raises an error “No access control plugins are available. Verify that plug-ins are installed on the event server and that the Event Server service is running”.

I’ve attached the log showing where it is failing to start - something about a duplicate value. Any idea what could be causing this?

Our suspicion is that the plugin.def file is wrong. Please share the content of that file.

Attached is our plugin. The system had an existing integration (not related to us) and will send that plugin def file as well.

This is the existing plugin used by a system not related to our software.

Hello,

Any update on this?

We have tested your attachment file Access It_ acplugin.def, but we cannot find the loading error in the log.

The error said “There are multiple root elements. Line 4, position 11.” The position for the error must be a return code but, in our test, there is no such an error. So please try to make a new .def file and save the file with UTF-8 encode and let’s see what we get.

See previous comment from us and please try it out.

Note: The message from Benjamin Ward above is spam that somehow got into your system.

The .def file is very simple, it is as follows:

We will recreate the file and retry. We will let you know.

Recreating the .def file worked. Thanks for the help.
