Mobile Server Registry Key query regarding the migration process of XProtect 2018 R2 from an old to new server?

I am migrating XProtect Professional 2018 R2 across to a new server. The document I am following can be found on the Milestone website under:

http://download.milestonesys.com/MTSKB/S01531/Backup%20of%20XProtect%20Professional%20VMS%20Products%20and%20restore%20on%20new%20hardware_v1.01_07112014.pdf

I realise this document describes the migration from an old to a new server based on XPortect Professional 2014 and not 2018, however, I could not find an updated version.

My query relates to the backup of the Milestone Mobile server, I have exported the configuration, but now I need to back up and export the registry keys as described in the document.

Of the eleven registry keys that the document requests that I backup, I can only locate seven. The missing Keys are:

Logfolder

Surveillancepassword

Surveillanceport

Surveillanceusername

The current registry keys on Xprotect Professional 2018 R2 are:

(Default)

Certfile

Certificate

Exportfolder

Installationfolder

Osmaaddress

Porthttp

Porthttpsecured

Porthttpwcf

ServerID

ServerIDS

ServerIDT

Surveillancename

Surveillancereport

Could you advise what registry keys I should use as replacements for the missing keys?

Hi Curt,

Unfortunately we removed those (missing keys) from the registry.

In fact we are a process of removing all the keys from the registry.

And those are made because of security reasons and potential threats if someone get access to the machine where the MoS (Mobile Server) is installed.

So there are no replacements at all.

During this process of enhancing the security of the Milestone products, there could be situations where you have to re-configure some parts of the system, during the upgrade.

I think you are exactly in this case with the MoS.

We know that this could cause some lag of comfort for the customer and we apologize for that.

But we make all the changes in the goal of the enhanced security.

Hi Petar

Thank you for the feedback. Could I then ask that you send me an updated guide or point me to the right link in order to do a migration of XProtect Professional 2018 R2 to a new server?
