Plugin don't start

i have developed a small plugin for smartclient.

I have used this plugin on several servers and also on some clients. In all cases I have copied the plugin to

[C:\Program](file:C:/Program) Files\Milestone\MIPPlugins\Test16\

in this folder I have copied two files:

plugin.def

Test16.dll

Now, I have copied this plugin to a new infrastructure, but the plugin is not loaded into the smartclient.

The plugin is not seen at the bottom left.

When I check from the about screen of the smartclient it is not loaded.

What is happening?

Can there be problems with the permissions of the windows user?

Can there be problems with some server settings?

Are any of the files blocked?

Try to use https://developer.milestonesys.com/s/article/debugging-techniques-for-Smart-Client-plugins

If “new infrastructure” means something like using [D:\Program](file:D:/Program) Files\Milestone\ it will not work ([C:\Program](file:C:/Program) Files\Milestone\ is hard-coded)

Try to put the plugin in the Smart Client folder instead.

we try to install plugin also in: [C:\Program Files\Milestone\Xprotect](file:C:/Program%C2%A0Files/Milestone/Xprotect) Smart Client\MIPPlugins\Test16

but nothing appears on the bootm left corner of the screen.

Can there be problems with the permissions of the windows user?

As you can see from the screenshot in the first answer, the path is correct.

C: \ Program etc .

“new infrastucture” means: new server, in a new location, with new cams.

I try to put the plugin folder in smartclient installation folder “[C:\Program](file:C:/Program) Files\Milestone\XProtect Smart Client”.

I’ll update you later as soon as I can find the pc on which we had the problem.

Gianmaria, this could happen if you send dll on Internet and Windows block it, as for .exe, try to unblock using property

You can see the error on Event Server log
