Problem with displaying the video archive. Archive process transfer speed low.

Hello.

The server running Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard uses Milestone XProtect Smart Client 2016 R3 Version 10.2a Build: 6734 (64-bit), Milestone XProtect Managment Client 2016 Version 10.2a Build 2438.

There is a problem with displaying the video archive of AVIGILON 5.0MP HD Bullet Camera cameras connected via ONVIF. When the archive is opened, the archive transfer rate slows down and then stops completely. In the display window alternately the message “Connecting to Server”, “Connection to the Server is Lost. Reconnecting … ”(screenshots in attachment).

There were no positive results from the Milestone forum: https://developer.milestonesys.com/s/article/Archive-process-transfer-speed-low.

A short-term positive effect was obtained after restarting the “Milestone xProtect Recording Server” service, but after loading the archive tape for 5-7 days, the archive transfer speed slows down and stops completely, in the display window again alternately the message “Connecting to Server”, “Connection to the Server is Lost. Reconnecting … ”.

Hi Dmiriy,

Could you confirm if you have the cummulative patches applied on the install at all?

Also is it only this camera that’s affected? historically has the camera had connection issues possibly? I only ask as cameras disconnecting and then reconnecting could become an issue in that version of the software, mainly as ech disconnection could create a new section for that camera, which in practical terms created a multitude of folders. We found that the database performance on many file systems would plummet due to the high number of folders and files.

It’s a bit of a stab in the dark I’ll grant you but you have to start somewhere:)
