Refresh configuration for Event Category mapping in Access Control

We tried to sync some events which are considered as Alarm to Milestone. So that, in Access Control → Access Control Events, they will be automatically mapped with Event Category = Alarm.

Although the integration is successful, it only applies to the very first time the plugin is created.

Which means if we add/update/remove any Alarm, and use the Refresh Configuration button in Management Client → Access Control, there will be NO update for the Event Category mapping.

How should we implement this?

Hi Binh, I did some tests and there does seem to be an issue with updating those categories. We’ll investigate further and come back to you when we have more to share.

After some investigation the reason we the category mapping doesn’t update is because these categories can be set by the user, so changing them, when updating the configuration of the plugin, might interfere with the user’s system. For example if they have set up an alarm definition that is triggered by certain event, based on its category, changing the categories for that event will stop the alarm from working. The categories, that the plugin gives, are treated the default ones, but the user can change them at any time.

We will consider how to improve this interaction in the future.
