SDK and old Corporate 2016 10.0a Server

I am starting up a development project where the client has a XProtect Corporate 2016 10.0a system.

I need to write a Windows Desktop application to display some video and also a Client Plugin. The client already uses newer versions of the Client.

Partner support tell me I have to pay if I want to get a trial Corporate 2016 licence so I can set up a similar system to the end user.

They can give me a free developer licence but only for 2018 or 2019 editions.

So will I have any problems doing local testing with Corporate 2018/2019 and then taking my project files to site where the client uses Corporate 2016 10.0a

You can test in the newer XProtect Corporate, it will work for the most cases and most functionality. What you have to be careful about is not to use functionality that was introduced after 2016.

You can get test licenses of older versions if you are a Milestone Solution partner, however it is important here to note that 2016 is discontinued..
