I have a problem with a Milestone server (of our client).
Using MIP SDK we are able to connect to the server but we can not obtain any live.
I try to use the sample MediaLiveViewer (using the last MIP SDK : 2018 R3 x86) and the problem is the same : connect OK but no live.
My client tell me that he is able to obtain live using the Smart Client 2016 R3.
Then I have add a log to MediaLiveViewer to log the exception received in JpegLiveSource1LiveNotificationEvent method.

What is the server? Which XProtect product and version?
The server is a XProtect Corporate version 2016 R2
I am still unable to reproduce, please allow em to ask more questions.
When does it crash? (At start-up after login, opening the item picker to pick a camera, when the camera has been picked or..?)
Do you have a Smart Wall configured?
The exception occurs when I select a camera . I need to ask if the Smart Wall is configured.

Hello, there is not any SmartWall.
The problem occurs when I pick a camera.
We cannot reproduce it in the Milestone test labs.
Can you please verify that the camera can be seen if you use the regular Smart Client?
If the camera runs and this is verifed in the Smart Client please make a screen capture of the error situation you see in the MediaLiveViewer, let us see this screen capture.
(Note; we do see the exception in debug output, but it is a caught exception that is expected and should have no effect on the usage of the sample application.)

do not care any more it is ok now.
With the help of wireshark my client managed to fix some problems with his network and his vpn !
Also I ask him about his usage of Smart Client and he do not want to install the Smart Client on the server where we want to receive live using MIP SDK; so I guess my original description of the problem was a bit false. I am sorry.
