Support for Joystick when using plugin integration

Is there any support in the SDK to use and control PTZ by Joystick, Key pad, Jog shuttle, Jog dial

If you have a built-in Camera ViewItem the joystick works for PTZ control. If you have your own ViewItem that includes a ImageViewerControl, like in the Video Preview sample, joystick control does not work.

Might you be able to use the built-in Camera ViewItem in your integration?

No, at least no current plans. I have made a request to Product Management for this so that the can consider this when they prioritize for future development work.

No update. The workaround is that you pick up the joystick, key pad, jog shuttle or jug dial and the do the PTZ’ing using the methods in the MIP SDK already present.

@Bo Ellegård Andersen (Milestone Systems) Will there be no conflict with native and plugin, when we try to capture joystick events? do you have any sample integration?

To capture joystick events is not really in Milestone’s domain of expertise and for this reason there has never been a sample, and to my knowledge no experimenting or testing capturing joystick events within a Smart Client plugin has been made within Milestone.

If you see any issues when capturing joystick when inside a Smart Client plugin I would very much like to hear about it.
