As the client is familiar with video editing tools, the Videotec DCZ universal keyboard was suggested for the SmartClient. Other compatible devices may be suitable as well, but the DCZ seemed the most adequate device in the Milestone site list.
Where can I find info on how to use keyboard with the Smartclient?
The client wishes to use buttons for functions, such as max/minumize screen, scroll channels. etc.,
The jog/dial is to be used for moving the video fwd/rev, fast, slow, frame by frame (fwd or rev).

First thing would be to visit the Supported Hardware → Joysticks page (https://www.milestonesys.com/solution-partners/supported-hardware/joysticks/)
This reveals that the device is supported as a USB keyboard, for which you can define a number of keys in the Smart Client.

The DCZ is in use now, with some buttons configured.
However, some functinality is missing, as the client wishes to work only with the DCZ and without a keyboard or mouse.
The smartclient version is 9.0c build 1010.
1. How to Activate or Disable a RULE? In this case the rule is for recording ALL cameras?
2. In PLAYBACK tab, How to ADD a bookmark? only the “add evidence lock” seems available. Will adding an evidence lock create a bookmark?
3. In PLAYBACK tab, How to move to the next or previous bookmark?
4. In PLAYBACK tab, How to use jog shuttle for playback action? It seems the drop-down list of actions for the jog is very limited (pan, tilit, etc.).
