When doing an export from Milestone using Milestone’s Smart Client, the folder names show up with the camera names, but when you go to properties or go inside the folder and click on the address bar, it shows a GUID instead. Why is this? I can replicate this on any computer when doing an export.
If you look into the files and folders that are the milestone db with Windows Explorer, Windows Explorer will give the folders nice names because there is a desktop.ini in every folder. This is actually make believe, the folders have the same names as in the exports you see. If you want the exports to present with nice names you could add desktop.ini files.
