Is there a way to link a camera to something else than an ‘Access Point’? Like to a sensor or something like that?
The only way I see now is to create a fictive door and add those as access points to that door.

Of course this is possible. One would use an Input port from a camera or stand-alone i/o device. This will then trigger an event. These events can then be used to start one or more cameras recording, raise alarms, send emails, or even trigger other events.
The implementation is a bit different in XProtect Professional VMS, compared to XProtect Advanced VMS, but well described in the Administrators manual.
Hi Michael,
Indeed this is a possibility, but I’m talking about the access control integration. There you can link directly a camera to an access point (eg entry or exit of a door).
The issue is that my access control system also contains other elements (inputs, outputs, keypads,…), which are not specifically linked to a door or an access point.
It would be nice to be able to direcly link a camera to those elements in the configuration.
Alex,
the crux here is that all Access Control Integrations in Milestone map all events to entities like access point (door station) or server. That is simply in the nature of Access Control.
What you need is the possibility to map events from the Access Control System to other entities like inputs.
We would have to discuss things with R&D to give you a correct answer. Do you think you could create a support case, refer to this Forum thread and ask for the case to be assigned to either Michael or me?
Best regards,
Torsten
