http://APIGATEWAY/api/rest/v1/events request allways obtain one type of event
I am guessing that it is because those are the events that are there..
If you adjust the retention on your recording storage these events might go away. If you trigger some user-defined events you might then see them instead.
There is one sample that uses the Events API, it might also be interesting for you and give new insights.
Hello, I’m Javier’s working mate.
I have been working with the example you provide in your response, and the result is the same. We only obtain the same kind of event.
Regards.
Hello Bo Ellegård, please, when possible, could you help us solve the problem that my colleague Alberto refers to.
Thank you, sincerely,
I cannot see that I got any feedback on my suggestion: If you adjust the retention on your recording storage these events might go away. If you trigger some user-defined events you might then see them instead.
I have a realization. What the sample retrieves are events that are stored. Per default a lot of events are not stored in order to not overfill the database.
If you in the Management Client go into Tools- Options, the Alarm and Events tab, you can adjust retention on events. I guess this is what is needed to get meaningful output from the sample.
We are referring to the activation/deactivation of the inputs that a device/camera has when it is added to a recording (attached screenshot for more detail), not to the events or alarms generated manually in the tabs you refer to.
Hi Javier and Alberto,
Reading all the comments, I believe Bo’s ones are more that valuable.
I’ve tried what you described, but with outputs not inputs (setting up camera inputs is a little bit more difficult in test environment).
First of all, I’ve set-up retention time as @Bo Ellegård Andersen (Milestone Systems) suggested you.
Because as you know, be default system events are with retention time set to zero.
(Management Client → Tools → Options → Alarms and Events tab)
Then I tested those events are showing in the SC (alarm plug-in).
(Smart Client → Alarm Manager tab)
And then tried with REST API (PostMan).
And all seems to work as expected.
So, I would suggest that something is not correctly configured in the system. It could be the events retention time. Or there could be no communication between the Event Server and Recording Server for example.
Testing with the SC is a good start.
Also support forum could be a better fit if you have some generic problems with the product.
