I’ve completed initial development and testing of a .NET C# plugin that integrates my company’s access control system with Milestone XProtect.
The XProtect Management App let’s the operator associate cameras with doors via access points. However I have not seen any way to associate cameras with access control hardware device inputs.
What I would like to be able to do is create a custom UI tab that gets displayed by XProtect Management App, where it shows access control device inputs on left panel and cameras on panel, just like the current UI that lets you associate cameras with doors / access points.
If there is a way to do this using MIP SDK 2017 R1 then great! If not then please put this on the list of desired enhancements to the MIP SDK.
Most if not all access control systems have glass break sensors, perimeter fence sensors, and similar devices that detect human activity which should trigger video recording for security reasons. The customer application is to have access control device input events trigger video recording, and have these events show up in the XProtect Client the same way door / reader events show up, with related video camera recordings shown right there on the events screen.
