System requirements for 2025 R3 state “AV1 codec is currently not supported”. Is there a device pack that supports AV1 currently on the roadmap?
XProtect 2025 R3 with Device Pack 13.9 and later supports AV1 (Axis cameras).
I will try to find out how this corresponds with the system requirements page, for now my assumption is that it needs an update.
The system requirements page states that “AV1 codec is currently not supported” in the section pertaining to hardware acceleration, this is not the same as AV1 codec is not supported as a camera codec, but it might make switching to AV1 codec less desirable, that the hardware acceleration does not support it.
