Axis VMD events (2022 R3)

Hello,

I have MS 2022 R3 with several Axis cameras and are setting up AOA and for older camera’s VMD events - but one of the camera’s I have not been able to get the VMD events to trigger recording - I making the rule write to log, and it seems MS is not receiving the event.

Hardware: Axis P3719-PLE FW: 11.11.212 running VMD4 4.5-8
MS: 2022 R3 device pack latest

Steps so far:

  1. Added events in camera
  2. Replaced HW in MS
  3. Added events in MS
  4. Updated rule

I am hoping there is a way in MS to see what is coming from camera - I know there is a event MIB community plugin but I dont think it works with 2022.

Maybe there is a PS script that can help?

The naming conventions really make this hard since the P3719 is a 4 lens camera I have ended up with profiles like :

CameraApplicationPlatform/VMD/Camera1Profile5 (VMD4 : Profile 1 (Camera1)) Rising - which is it Profile 1 or Profile 5?

I see the KB to clean out the cache : https://support.milestonesys.com/article/unable-to-trigger-events-from-all-profiles-of-Axis-cameras-troubleshooting

But worried this will break all my existing AOA profiles which work - and the article appears to apply mainly to “Motionguard”

Please help. Thanks.

As this question is not related to software development with the MIP SDK or XProtect integration development in general, which is the focus of this forum, please ask again in a technical support case.

Support cases interface is found following this link. https://support.milestonesys.com/

I would use metadata Monitor from axis and look at the onvif topic that comes when you trigger it. That on if topic is the same name as in the event list.

Then you know what exactly is sent and what you must selecty if it’s then not triggering it’s a bug you need to reach out to support.

Or made a trick by just use a rule inside the camera to send a TCP or http and use generic alarms as last resort
