Hello, thanks for your support. We are investigating how, as software developers, we can integrate our body-worn camera system (BWC) with your system, specifically XProtect VMS. I have listed several questions below. Can you provide an answer or guidance for each query?
- What do we, on the Hanwha Vision side, need to do to integrate with the XProtect system?
- Can this be done using your plug-in SDK or other methods?
- What exactly happens under the hood when establishing the connection between XProtect and the body-worn camera system? (I watched the Axis guidance video that shows the wearable cameras are automatically registered in the XProtect recording server)
- Do you have an equivalent case management service to Genetec Clearance?
With the Driver Framework you can create a driver for your BWC. It would be able to support direct streaming from the camera live, but perhaps more interesting support edge retrieval of video recorded in the camera while direct communication between camera and recording was not up.

To automate the functionality, I believe you would require a Hanhwa service, that could manage the retrieval when the camera is available, perhaps is in docking or similar.
Under the hood I envision that this service when the camera is in docking finds out what footage is recorded, then it asks the Recording Server to do remote retrieval (which is made possible by the Driver Framework driver).
The “service” should be developed as a standalone application or service, not a plugin.
To extend the functionality you could have various configuration tasks, like assisted or automated adding of the camera during setup. This could be achieved by using Configuration API (Rest API, Configuration API SOAP, or strongly typed classes).
On the subject of the Clearance product I was told, by colleagues who know the market better, that we have something similar, perhaps even better, not from Milestone Systems ourselves, but from a partner “Dynamic Workflow Solutions Inc.”. The product they offer is “Milestone Evidence Plugin (MEP)”.
