Cloud Storage for Video

Options have been suggested to place video in the Cloud via Amazon. Would like to know if anyone has tried this and what the experience has been for them. I would assume with the high volume of video and tryin to access it would be an issue with Lagginess of obtaining the video. Just looking for anyone’s experience with this

Thanks,

Phil

Currently, this is not possible, as the Recording server need to have direct access to the Live- and archive footage. Also, I think that security and data-integrity will determine if such access will ever be possible.

The closest we can get would be with the Milestone Mobile Server, which can transcode all live- and archived camera footage real-time on request from web-clients or mobile clients (Android, Windows and iOS devices.)

Hi Phil, im working on this at the moment, more of a proof of concept rather than a production environment. I have a 2012 R2 Server hosted by AWS just need to get Milestone Installed. Will let you know how I get on and what the issues are. So far I can see the cost of storage being an issue, as well as bandwidth requirements.
