Milestone supports the following events for an Axis P1365MkII camera:
Crossline detection event
Audio event
Number of VMD windows 4
VMD start event
VMD stop event
Tampering event
This info can be found on the Milestone device compatibility pages.
Axis has the possibility to define dynamic events. We have an ACAP SmokeCatcher that defines and uses these dynamic events.
We know that these events are sent to Milestone using the camera’s metadata stream. We can see the standard camera events and our own dynamic events.
Is it possible to configure Milestone so that it can use/recognize these dynamic events ?
We currently have a Milestone certified SmokeCatcherBridge application (MIPSDK) for sending events and metadata to Milestone.
We are just wondering do we still need this application or is there another way to accomplish the same task.

The Dynamic Event support should include all ACAP defined events.
Though we only support the event itself – not any extra data attached to the event.
If the camera is added first, and then ACAP is loaded – the Management Client need to be used for ‘replacing’ the hardware device with itself – to get all the events visible in Management Client.
Afterwards, the events need to be ‘Added’ on the camera/event tab to have Corporate subscribe to it.
The camera (P1365MKII firmware 8.40.1) was added with our ACAP running.
Where can I see a list of camera events (static and dynamic) ?
We are using a Milestone Essential+ 2018R3 !

If you do not see the expected event please try to upgrade the Device Pack to the newest.
Please note that this is not related to software development with the MIP SDK, which is the focus of this forum, you might get better help from the partners using the support community or from doing a regular support case with Milestone Technical Support.

My best advise is to return to Milestone Tech Support, they will either come up with better help directly or consult with the driver developers within Milestone. I am sorry if you feel you have been sent on a detour on the Developer Forum.
