We are developing a Windows application with the MIP SDK 2018R1. We have a problem: hardware acceleration is always disabled.
We have tried both WPF and WinForms ImageViewerControl, but the diagnostics always show that hardware acceleration is disabled. Even with your examples “PlaybackUser” and “PlaybackWpfUser” there is the same problem.
Using smart client 2018R1 in the same machine the diagnostic shows that hardware acceleration is enabled:
- Hardware acceleration: Intel
- GPU Name: Intel(R) Core™ i5…
How can we enable hardware acceleration?
Thanks.
I was able to reproduced this. I will investigate deeper and get Milestone Development involved.
A bug was introduced in MIP SDK 2018R1 which caused the issue you saw, that Intel GPU hardware acceleration was never used. (Actually the newly introduced NVidia GPU support works and would have kicked in if applicable.)
We have replaced the regular MIP SDK 2018R1 download with a new hot-fixed version. Please download an use this new MIP SDK.
Bo, are you sure that this was updated on the main SDK release from your website? Can you confirm the current download contains this? The website states:
“Latest release: MIP SDK 2018 R1 released on February 20, 2018.”, your comment is about a month after this.
Just reconfirmed, that the latest download from the Milestone Site does NOT have hardware acceleration for WPF.
http://download.milestonesys.com/MIPSDK/MIPSDK_Installer_2018R1.msi
that link does NOT have it.
I can confirm that the problem has been fixed and the WPF ImageViewerControl has the Hardware Acceleration enabled.
The file MIPSDK_Installer_2018R1.msi with hot-fix was released on 13/03/2018 11:12.
